Vision Statement and Future Story:
“Over the next five to ten years, First Baptist Dublin will become the church in the heart of Dublin with a heart for reaching Dublin and the world for Christ. Like that majestic tree planted by streams of water (Psalm 1), the First Baptist Dublin church family will have deep roots and a broad reach to accomplish the broad scope of our vision.
Our deep roots will be anchored in our commitment to the Bible, sound doctrine, and the Great Commission. We will depend on Christ alone as our true Foundation (I Co. 3:11) and our source of strength. He will lead us into His planned future, enabling our service as we obey His call. We will bear spiritual fruit as we meet the spiritual needs of our members. (Jn. 15:16) As an intergenerational church, we will seek to reach and minister to every person in each family connected to our church and encourage members of all ages to cultivate authentic, intergenerational relationships. We will see more children and adults coming to faith in Christ and committing to become His disciples. We will equip each church member and encourage them to become fully engaged in the life of our church as we nurture a loving community of believers. We will maintain and more consistently utilize the gift of our beautiful facilities for the purpose of blessing our members and our community.
Like the spreading limbs of a majestic oak tree, First Baptist Dublin will focus outwardly and reach well beyond our walls. We will witness a spiritual harvest as each member is sent into our church’s mission field for the purpose of reaching the hurt, the lost, and the unchurched. (II Co. 5:18-21) We will be a welcoming church who does not forget those who have yet to come to faith. We will make room at the table for all those whom the Lord entrusts into the care of our faith family and pursue meaningful connections and shared experiences. Our members will view the network of relationships they enjoy in our community as a gift entrusted to them by God for the purposes of outreach and ministry as they share the hope that is within them.
We will be a Gospel-Centered, Great Commission church (Mt. 28:18-20) that is committed to worship, evangelism, discipleship, and missions, all for the sake of God’s glory and Christ’s Kingdom on earth, beginning first in Dublin and reaching to the ends of the earth.”
